Craig brings extensive experience to this role, both as founder and CEO of Ignition Consulting and as CFO for several start-up companies in the technology, SaaS, manufacturing and professional services industries, raising over $450M in equity and debt financing on their behalf while also fulfilling the CFO’s traditional responsibilities.

Craig’s proven track record of leadership and results enables him to provide both practical and strategic support to early stage companies looking to professionalize their finance function as well as accelerate growth-driven objectives. Specifically, he is adept at streamlining business processes, analyzing value and impact across complex organizations, and driving major initiatives from planning through tactical execution.

Prior to founding Ignition Consulting, Craig worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers for 15 years in a number of capacities, most notably as the U.S. CFO of its Tax and Advisory Line of Service, where he managed $2B in tax revenues and $1.4B in advisory revenues while overseeing a staff of more than 100 employees. In this role, Craig managed all financial aspects of those divisions, including P&L, strategic financial and organizational planning, revenue initiatives and finance staff development.

Craig graduated from University of Massachusetts’ Isenberg School of Management with a BA in Accounting. Craig is currently on the board of two technology startups in Boston.

Craig lives in Boston, Massachusetts with his wife and two children. When not working, Craig can usually be found in the gym or landscaping at his home. He also enjoys travel with his wife and family when time permits.

Don MacKenzie is a Member of Ignition Consulting.

Don is a finance executive with a background in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, global operations and turnaround situations. He has been involved with hundreds of start-up and middle market companies, helping them raise capital, launch, expand, and ultimately exit. Don has worked across a broad range of industries, including technology, SaaS, biotech, manufacturing and business and professional services.

Don has been advising start-up and small middle-market companies for the past several years, including strategic planning, operational effectiveness, sales and marketing, financial operations, and fundraising. Prior to his advisor roles, Don was the president and chief operating officer of a business services firm, managing all aspects of the business, including finance, operations, sales and client service. Before this, Don held COO and CFO roles in two large, international venture capital firms. The firms both focused on multi-stage investing in technology and life sciences portfolio companies. Don ran all aspects of the finance and operations of the firms.

Before his roles in venture capital, Don was appointed as the worldwide CFO of a global manufacturing company following the leveraged buyout by a Boston private equity firm. He was responsible for the worldwide accounting and reporting, finance, treasury, and other administration of the $350 million revenue company with operations in 25 countries.

Don began his career in “Big 4” CPA firms in London and Boston. There he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and focused on mergers and acquisitions, working with financial and strategic buyers across many industries and geographies.

Don graduated with a Bachelors degree from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

Don lives in Weston, MA with his wife and sons.

Chris Whitten is a Partner of Ignition Consulting.

Chris brings 20 years of financial and accounting leadership experience to the Ignition team. He serves as the primary finance/accounting resource for a variety of technology-based start-ups, SaaS and professional services, assisting in the raising of over $75M in equity and debt and over $330M in client exits. His client services include budgeting, modeling, systems selection and setup, audit preparation, M&A diligence, fundraising diligence, process implementation, and staff hiring and training.

Prior to joining Ignition, Chris was Vice President at Venture Advisors, where he provided fractional finance and accounting support to angel-backed and venture-backed clients. He served as Vice President of Finance & Administration of Spartan Race, Inc.; Senior Director of Finance & Controller of Tributes, Inc.; Controller of Jackpot Rewards, Inc.; Finance Manager and Controller of NameMedia, Inc.; and Accounting Manager of Lycos, Inc. Chris started his accounting career at State Street Bank & trust Company.

He received a BA in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts’ Isenberg School of Management.

Chris lives in Holliston, Massachusetts with his wife and three kids. When not working, Chris can be found coaching his kids in their various sports.

Sean McElduff is an experienced venture CFO. He brings extensive experience to this role, after serving as CFO for several start-up companies in the hardware, SaaS and eCommerce industries, in addition to his experience as an M&A investment banker in New York.

Sean’s experience across industries enables him to provide both strategic and operational support to businesses as they grow, raise capital and transform their business model. Specifically, he is versatile in analyzing value and positioning complex enterprises for success, as well as partnering with leadership teams to optimize their financial performance.

Prior to joining Ignition Consulting, Sean helped launch and grow several businesses. He wrote the business plan for TJMaxx.com (a wholly independent business unit within the TJX Companies) and helped them launch and grow to over $100M in sales. Sean also led all acquisition processes as TJX pursued several online retail acquisitions, which ultimately acquired Sierra Trading Post. He also established the finance function for two different start-ups and helped raise $20M in equity and over $10M in venture debt. Prior to his operating experience, Sean was an M&A adviser in New York covering the media, restaurant, apparel, real estate and healthcare industries.

Sean graduated from Columbia Business School and Boston College. He lives outside Boston, Massachusetts with his two children.
